All March 2023 Ditto disguises in Pokémon Go – How to catch a Ditto

Ditto is a little shy.

Ditto is a unique Pokémon for you to go after in Pokémon Go. You won’t ever find it in the wild in its standard form. Instead, it will be disguised as a random Pokémon in the world. These Pokémon disguises change out, typically at the start of a season, so you can expect an array of new Ditto disguises each month. Here’s what you need to know about Ditto’s disguises in Pokémon Go for March 2023 and how you can catch Ditto.

All March 2023 Ditto Disguises

Here is every Ditto disguise that you can find in Pokémon Go for the month of March 2023.

  • Corphish
  • Diglett
  • Grimer
  • Litleo
  • Roggenrola
  • Snubbull
  • Starly
  • Tympole

These Pokémon can appear in the wild as you explore your local area. They might appear as normal Pokémon, but there is a distinct animation that happens after you’ve captured them, revealing themselves to be Ditto. There is a chance that you can catch a shiny Ditto, but not if the Pokémon you encounter is also shiny.

How to catch a Ditto in Pokémon Go

Unfortunately, before you attempt to catch the Pokémon, there’s no way to tell if it’s a Ditto. You won’t know it’s going to be a Ditto unless you catch the Pokémon, and then it transforms. You’ll want to make sure you try catching every disguise that Ditto could possibly be to make sure you’re increasing your chances.

You’ll have to keep clicking on these Pokémon in the wild and try to catch them. Eventually, when you catch it, you’ll receive this distinct animation after they go into a Pokéball.

The only way to tell you’ve caught a Ditto is when you zoom in on the Poké Ball, there is a distinct ‘Oh?’ bubble that appears above it. The Pokémon will appear out of the Poké Ball, and they transform into a Ditto.

Outside of this brief animation, there’s no way to tell where the Pokémon is in the world after you’ve captured a Ditto. You might have a chance to catch one for a special research quest or an event one, but you’ll have to know it’s a reward beforehand. You have a standard Ditto encounter when you’re told Ditto is a capture reward.

Make sure to keep up to date with the list we’ve provided to ensure you’re on the hunt for catching Ditto. This list rotates out, so expect to see it updated every so often with new Pokémon.
