How do runes work in Tribes of Midgard?

Runes provide helpful bonuses based on the quality.

The runes in Tribes of Midgard can be extremely helpful for you if you’re looking to enhance your character. The rune powers vary from directly influencing how powerful your character is in combat to make it easier to repair equipment or crafting items. There are several you can find throughout the game, but how do they work? This guide shares how runes work in Tribes of Midgard and how you can use them to your advantage.

A rune essentially acts as a passive for your character. It’s going to give your character a special bonus, but you won’t directly see it. For example, one of the runes we could acquire gave us a 20% discount whenever we repaired any of our equipment at a repair station. It was an excellent way to ensure our equipment was usually ready to go for combat and allowed us to spend the souls we gathered up elsewhere to improve the village. We also obtained a combat one where we had a 30% chance that a magical projectile would fire out from us to seek out and damage an enemy.

When we began our game, a character in Tribes of Midgard could gather with them up to five runes. Potentially, these slots could be expanded as we played the game, but everyone starts with five rune slots. You can mix and match these runes to fit your playstyle, benefiting you in both combat and giving your discounts at the village whenever you crafted or repaired your gear.

None of the runes go into your equipment or weapons. So whenever we needed to swap out a rune, it was effortless. Depending on how you’re going to play your character in Tribes of Midgard, specific runes will be more beneficial than others. If you ever find yourself with a rune you won’t be using, drop it off at your War Chest to share with other players in your village.
