During a recent interview with Weekly Famitsu, Tetsuya Nomura has shared more details about Final Fantasy VII Remake and the development process which is now ongoing, and apparently in a better shape than anticipated.
“Production is going well,” the game director told the Japanese magazine. “[Development] is moving along more than expected, so please wait for the next news release with peace of mind.”
Interestingly, Square Enix is “trying to figure out when we will put out the next news release,” after the publisher has decided to focus on Kingdom Hearts III at the latest E3 2018.
It’s worth noting that the recent change of developer, with CyberConnect2 that was removed from the project, didn’t affect the design and the systems as “the direction was pretty much decided.”
In terms of story, the game will be “preserving the atmosphere of the original,” but on top of that the team will “dig deeper into the characters, including members of Avalanche.”
So, this is quite reassuring for what matters the news about Final Fantasy VII Remake, which has disappointingly gone missing at E3 2018. At this point, we look forward to hearing more about it next year.
