Series Creator Amy Hennig Claims There’s Room For More Uncharted Stories

Developer Naughty Dog made it clear in the past that it wasn’t going to return to the franchise after Uncharted 4, but then The Lost Legacy got released and spread the belief that the developer could do more of that without Drake involved.

A Thief’s End has signed the end of an era for the Uncharted series, wrapping up the main story of protagonist Nathan Drake and leaving no other room for Naughty Dog to explore his future anymore.

The developer made it clear in the past that it wasn’t going to return to the franchise after Uncharted 4, but then The Lost Legacy got released and spread the belief that the developer could do more of that without Drake involved.

Series creator Amy Hennig Claims There’s Room For More Uncharted Stories Apparently, creator Amy Hennig, who is no more at Naughty Dog as she left the studio during the early stages of the development process on Uncharted 4, has lots of ideas about where the franchise could be heading.

“How would you continue it? I mean, that’s tough, because they kind of wrapped it up with a bow and had the flash forward. Look, I think there’s a lot of material there that you could continue with: Cassie, with the daughter, you could do flashback stories with Nathan Drake… you just look at Indiana Jones; there’s really not a limit,” Hennig told GameReactor.

“You can always jump back in and tell a story with an older character and that gives a whole different color to it, which is kind of cool, and you could do sort of the Young Indiana Jones version of Nathan Drake if you wanted to. I’m excited, because it sounds like the filmmakers are gonna do that actually with the Uncharted film and go back to an earlier time and stuff like that.”

The next appointment with the series is indeed the movie about the young Nathan Drake, played by Spider-Man’s Tom Holland, while Naughty Dog is working on The Last of Us Part II so it won’t probably be doing anything else for a time.
