Nintendo has revealed updated sales stats for the Nintendo Switch and the great news is the console has already outsold GameCube.
Reaching 22.86 million units, Switch has “continued to be quite popular” during the six months ending September 30.
In these six months, 5.07 million units were sold, with a 3.7% increase yoy. Wii U had already been outsold, which was quite easy considering that it sold just 13.56 million units.
Giving a look at the previous Nintendo consoles’ sales, we find out that:
- Wii sold 101.63m units
- Nintendo 64 32.93m units,
- SNES 49.10m
- NES 61.91m units.

On the handheld side
- 3DS is on 73.53m
- DS has sold 154.02m
- Game Boy Advance 81.51m
- Game Boy 118.69m.
Finally, the 3DS sold 1m units in the six month period, a – 65.1% decrease yoy, which is probably remarking the end of its lifecycle. The NES Classic and the SNES Classic sold 3.69m combined.
