The full version of Destiny 2 is completely free to play on PlayStation 4 this weekend, and it’s available to download right now.

The free weekend allows players to enjoy the entire campaign, every game mode, and all of the weapons and gear available to paid owners of the game. The free weekend lasts from today, June 29, through Sunday, July 1.

Now is as good a time as any for those who may have skipped the release of the game to try it out and see if it strikes their fancy. Destiny 2 has received numerous updates and improvements since the launch of the game in September, as well as two expansions in December and May.

Next up for Destiny, other than another update full of improvements on July 17, is the large-scale Forsaken expansion on Sept. 4. The game’s next DLC will raise the stakes by killing off a main character and adding thousands of pieces of new gear to collect—on top of a new Raid, a story campaign, and a PvE/PvP hybrid game mode called Gambit.

One catch about all of the new content coming is that players who want to experience Forsaken will need to own both of the game’s first two expansions as well, because Forsaken will take players to destinations only found in those DLCs. So in order to get the full Destiny 2 experience, players will need to purchase the base game, the Year 1 Season Pass, and Forsaken.

In the summer gaming drought, this free weekend might be exactly what you’re looking for, so check out Destiny 2 and see if the future of the game is something you might be interested in.
