It’s really unfair to call The Boomsday Project a retread of Goblins vs Gnomes.

It’s clearly a very different expansion, and we’ve seen nothing approaching reprints of cards yet. But there are similarities and returning characters, like Dr Boom himself. And the latest card revealed from the set will bring back a lot of memories from one of GvG‘s more annoying cards.

A new episode of the Enter Boom Labs animation has just dropped on the Hearthstone YouTube channel. Not only is it another pretty funny video to help create the world around the expansion, it revealed a new card.

That card is Annoy-o-Module, a four mana 2/4. It has three keywords—Divine Shield, Taunt, and Magnetic.

If you’re getting an overwhelming sense of nostalgia, you’re not wrong. Annoy-o-Tron was a two mana 1/2 with Divine Shield and Taunt from Goblins vs Gnomes. I guess this is the upgraded version? Taking three years to release a new model is pretty slow by tech development standards.

The crucial addition to this card is Magnetic. That means it can be played on its own, or added as a buff to existing mechs on the board. From what we’ve seen so far, Magnetic cards are going to prioritize health over attack to help those big minions to stick around.

The Boomsday Project releases Aug. 7.
