Naughty Dog unveiled new game play for The Last of Us Part 2. You’ll play as Ellie as we still wonder where Joel is. The combat system has improved from The Last of Us and is very sleek.

Sony knows what their community wants and seems to deliver that year after year.

Naughty Dog brought The Last of Us Part 2 to the stage and it did not disappoint as we’ve been patiently waiting for this. Editor’s note: Having been in attendance at the PlayStation briefing, watching the trailer inside a makeshift church made to look like the opening scene was cool. Too bad we had to stand packed like cattle the whole time.

In The Last of Us Part 2, you play as Ellie who has grown up from the last time we joined her and Joel in The Last of Us. Where is Joel you ask? Well that is something that has been on everyone’s mind since the reveal trailer from last year’s E3 and this year doesn’t provide any answers either.

Not only does the game look beautiful, but the combat has changed from The Last of Us, and it’s much much darker and more violent. If you ask me, it’s for the better. Being able to use someone as a human shield is something that is rarely seen in games today and Naughty Dog seems to have pulled it off perfectly.

No release date was announced for The Last of Us Part 2, but we are ready for it whenever it lands. The Last of Us Part 2 will of course only be available for PlayStation 4.
