Following a stacked opening to 2020, Ghost of Tsushima will help fill out Summer 2020 with some good games to back that up.
The action-adventure game is going to bring a traditional Japanese style to an open world that lets players explore at their own pace with; however, they want to go about it. The story is about the tale of one of the few remaining samurai on Tsushima Island during a portion of the first Mongol invasion of Japan. It will feature many historical landmarks along with Jin Sakai’s fight for freedom.
Along with the trailer, we also got the official box art for the game and some other details.

“I’m also happy to reveal our box art today, featuring Jin in his Ghost armor as a growing storm looms behind him,” Sucker Punch Communications Manager Andrew Goldfarb said. “You can also get a peek at some of the gear and upgrades Jin will acquire throughout his journey, which we’ll share many more details about next year.”
Based on Sony Interactive Entertainment launching another massive title, The Last of Us Part II, on May 29, that Summer 2020 release window will likely land close to the tail end of that period. It would make sense to see Ghost of Tsushima release in August or early September similarly to how Spider-Man was handled in 2018.
Regardless of when the game releases, it looks spectacular and will likely be on the stage of The Game Awards next year for several potential categories. Ghost of Tsushima will launch on PlayStation 4 in Summer 2020.
