Here’s how to get Mew in the latest Pokémon game.
You just bought your new copy of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! and you have the Poké Ball Plus controller on hand. You load up the game, looking forward to playing with your starter Pokémon and the Mew hidden inside the Poké Ball—except it’s nowhere to be found.
Don’t panic: The Poké Ball Plus isn’t broken and your Mew is still safe and sound inside the Poké Ball. You just need to take it out first.
- Simply connect the Poké Ball Plus as a controller to your Nintendo Switch and open the in-game menu with the “B” button. You then need to navigate to the “Communication” tab and select the “Mystery Gift” option.
- You should then have an option to “Get with a Poké Ball Plus” to get the Mew.
It’s important to note, though, that once you take Mew off of a Poké Ball Plus, there won’t be a second one—so make sure you put it on the game that you’re sure to keep your hands on in the long term.
If you reset your game or buy a second-hand Poké Ball Plus device, there’s no way to get Mew. If you delete your data, you’ll delete Mew along with it.
