The game has several weapon categories, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Some of them appear more powerful compared to other weapon types, but their overall effectiveness is dependent on their stats and the player’s character.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has the following weapon types:

  • Sword
  • Dagger
  • Staff
  • Heavy Blunt (Hammer, Mace)
  • Heavy Bladed (Axe, Scythe, Bludgeon)
  • Spear
  • Bow

In this article, we will talk about five of the strongest weapons in the game: a Bow, Dagger, Spear, Heavy Blunt, and Sword. If you main any of these, then you’re in luck.

The strongest weapons in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Here’s a list of the strongest weapons in Odyssey. These are arranged in no specific order—we included them because they’re the best among weapons of their type.

Achilles’ Bow

  • Type: Bow
  • DPS: 7,180 at level 99

Engravings:

  • +25% Hunter Damage
  • +10% CRIT Chance
  • +20% Damage with Devastating Shot Ability

This stunning and deadly legendary bow was believed to have been used by the Greek hero Achilles. It somehow made its way into the hands of a Greek mercenary known as “the Marksman.” Defeating this mercenary awards you with the Achilles Bow.

The Achilles Bow is perfect for players who use a hunter-oriented build, as it enhances their base damage output while increasing the chances of landing critical hits. Furthermore, the 20% boost to the damage dealt by the Devastating Shot makes shooting from afar even more enticing.

Dagger of Kronus

  • Type: Dagger
  • DPS: 8,257 at level 99

Engravings:

  • +25% Warrior Damage
  • +30% Damage with Daggers
  • +40% Damage when Attacking from Behind

The Dagger of Kronus was created as inspired by the Titan Kronos’ act of castrating and removing his father, Uranus, from power. It is a beautiful weapon used by the Nyx the Shadow, the Sage of the Eyes of Kosmos branch of the Cult of Kosmos. Players will need to slay Nyx in order to obtain this weapon. This dagger is great for taking down opponents from behind, thanks to its engravings, adding a slew of bonus damage. It’s still good when attacking enemies from the front.

Falx Of Olympos

  • Type: Spear
  • DPS: 8,257 at level 99

Engravings:

  • +25% Assassin Damage
  • +40% Adrenaline per CRIT
  • +100% Damage but Health Capped to 25%

The Falx of Olympos is a legendary spear in 5th-century BCE Greece. Unlike other weapons in this list, this mighty spear was left hidden at the bottom of the Aegean Sea, inside the sunken Palace of Amphitrite. Players who want to get their hands on this powerful weapon will need to look for a Legendary Chest hidden in the area and get it from there.

This extremely powerful weapon sacrifices your maximum Health in exchange for a significant boost in the amount of Damage you deal enemies. If you’re good at avoiding enemy attacks, then this spear will allow you to slay all enemies while you poke at them.

Mallet of Everlasting Flame

  • Type: Heavy Blunt
  • DPS: 8,257 at level 99

Engravings:

  • +25% Warrior Damage
  • +40% Fire Damage
  • Weapon Damage becomes Fire Damage

The Mallet of Everlasting Flame is a legendary blunt weapon used in ancient Greece. Some think it burns all the time without end, and some think it was taken from the heart of a volcano. Players can obtain this weapon by defeating a Greek mercenary known as “the smoldering.”

This legendary weapon greatly increases the damage each successful swing does to enemies receiving the blow. Warrior builds will greatly benefit from the 25% boost in base damage and an additional 40% Fire damage. It also converts normal damage to Fire damage, without using the Flaming Attacks skill.

Xiphos of Dionysos

  • Type: Sword
  • DPS: 8,257 at level 99

Engravings:

  • +25% Assassin Damage
  • +50% CRIT Damage
  • +20% Damage with Hero Strike Ability

This legendary sword is believed to have been owned by Dionysos, the Greek god of wine. This is further evidenced by the xiphos’ design—the head of a bull adorning the crossguard, where the hilt and the blade meet. Players can acquire this weapon by defeating Pausanias of Sparta.

The xiphos’ engravings indicate it is best for an assassin-oriented build, adding bonus base and CRIT damage. And if that’s not enough, it significantly enhances the damage output of the Hero Strike ability, which is already powerful.

And that’s it for the best weapons in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, according to their category. There are many other weapons in the game, but we recommend using these if you’re looking for the strongest weapon based on their type.
