Coral Crystal can be a bit of a pain to find, but our guide gives you some suggestions as to where to start mining. As with all random drops, your mileage will vary, but don’t despair and keep trying.
Monster Hunter: World is all about hunting monsters, of course, but being properly equipped will go a long way to success. We’ve already told you how to upgrade armor and equipment, but sometimes the materials required to upgrade or forge new items can be hard to come by. Coral Crystal is a kind of material that is often found when mining certain areas and is used in weapons, such as the Blooming Glaive.
Where to Find Coral Crystal
Coral Crystal is found on Mining Outcrops as a rare drop. You may get lucky and find Coral Crystal as a reward from quests or requisitions, but you’re more likely to be successful if you spend some time with your axe in hand hitting rocks. As with all material drops, there is only a chance of receiving a Coral Crystal when mining in the game, but we’ve got a few suggestions on where to start looking.
Mining Outcrops show up as icons on the map, something you’ll already know if you read our guide on how to use the map to find everything. We’ve heard that the areas of Coral Highlands and Wildspire Waste are your best bet to go looking for Coral Crystal.
Coral Highlands
The Coral Highlands area of Monster Hunter: World is one of the more convoluted areas of the game. Be sure to use your map to mark Mining Outcrops and have your Scout Flies assist you. Then you’re a bit at the mercy of the random number generator that determines what exactly you’ll get from the Mining Outcrop. If you have not yet unlocked the Coral Highlands area, we suggest you try this in the Wildspire Waste area, which is the second one that you get to visit while playing the game.
