In many multiplayer online games, various characters have ultimate abilities. While there isn’t any kind of ultimate system in Spellbreak, it is replaced with runes. Runes are magical equipment like belts or gauntlets but instead will give you a new unique ability, usually related to mobility.

There are seven ruins currently in the game, five mobility runes, and two tactical runes. Every rune has a cooldown time that lowers the higher the tier of that rune you have, with five tiers in total. The standard max rune charge is one, and cannot recharge while hovering.

Dash | Duration: 1 second

Dash

Immediately move forward a short distance with great speed. Doesn’t work upward, horizontal or downward movement only.

Cooldown Progression (seconds): 9, 7, 6, 5, 4.5

Springstep | Duration: 1 second

Jump high into the air and come back down with speed. The decent can be delay via hovering.

Cooldown Progression (seconds): 7.5, 6, 5.5, 5, 4.5

Featherfall | Duration: 3.7 seconds

Featherfall

Fly straight up into the air and fall slowly as if you are a feather. You will regain normal gravity if you use spells while in the air.

Cooldown Progression (seconds): 14, 11, 10, 9, 8

Flight | Duration: 5 seconds

Flight

Fly through the air and steer yourself in any direction you wish. If you collide with a wall, object, or other players, the flight will be cut short and end as if the whole flight occurred.

Cooldown Progression (seconds): 18, 15, 12, 11, 10

Teleportation | Duration: 0.6 seconds

Teleportation

Instantly teleport to the location of your cursor within 60 m around your character. If you aim for a space that is too far, the ability will not work.

Invisibility | Duration: 8 seconds

Invisibility

Gain a temporary run speed boost of +3 that stacks with your boots and turn completely invisible. Great for both a sneak attack and a clean getaway.

Cooldown Progression (seconds): 10, 8, 7, 6.5, 6

Wolf’s Blood | Duration: 12 seconds

Wolf's Blood

Howl like a wolf and gain a temporary run speed boost of +4 that stacks with your boots and have all enemies in the area outlined in red. This includes through cover and invisibility effects.

Cooldown Progression (seconds): 12, 9.5, 8.5, 8, 7

The 8th and 9th runes, chronomaster and shadowstep, have been removed from the game. It is not currently clear whether or not they will return.
