NBA 2K21: Best Playoff Stoppers promo cards in MyTeam

Which Playoff Stopper will you target?
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

With the NBA Playoffs in full swing, the 2K devs have released a limited-time promo for MyTeam featuring some great postseason performers from past years. There are several new promo cards now out, but which ones should you target? Let’s take a look at our picks.

Ben Wallace

The former power forward Ben Wallace (93 OVR) had a great run in Detroit in 2004, helping the Pistons win the NBA Championship in the 2003-04 season. The 6’9” Wallace now heads to MyTeam, and his large presence should be a big boost for your team. Wallace has great rebounding attributes (94 REB), as well as fantastic defensive (91 DEF) rating. The big man isn’t going to be a force with his jump shots (76 INS, 44 OUT), though. Nevertheless, you are getting a warrior in the paint, something that should come in handy.

Dennis Johnson

PG Dennis Johnson (91 OVR) played a pivotal role for the 1985-86 Boston Celtics, as he helped lead them past the Houston Rockets in the Finals to win the NBA Championship. Johnson can also play a big role in your MyTeam, thanks to his solid playmaking (85 PLY) ability and athleticism (85 ATH). Couple those traits with a fantastic defensive rating (90 DEF), and you might have yourself a new starting point guard.

Bill Walton

Dennis Johnson isn’t the only member of the 1985-86 Celtics that’s a Playoff Stopper. NBA legend Bill Walton (89 OVR) might not have the defensive prowess (78 DEF) that Ben Wallace has in 2K21, but the center/power forward has a lot to offer. Walton is a monster in the paint (89 INS), and with his 6’11” frame, he should have very few problems betting opposing big men in the inside. We should also mention that Walton has an incredible rebounding attribute (89 REB). It might not be as good as Wallace’s rating, but it’s nothing to scoff at, either.
