Flying can be fun and terrifying all at once, and that certainly applies to the world quest Soaring Over Bastion in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. There are multiple steps you need to take before you head for the sky, and nothing about this quest is as simple as it should be. Let’s go through the necessary tasks to complete this world quest.
When you first zone into the area, you’ll need to acquire four Cloudstrider Antlers. You can loot these from the Gilded Cloudstriders, non-hostile animals in the area. The drop rate is less than 20%, so you might have a lot of venison on your hands by the time you get the four sets of antlers you need.
Next, you need to head to the highlighted circle on your minimap. You’re looking for a giant bird named Andira, who will accept your offering of antlers, and provide you with the air transportation you need to complete the rest of this quest. Right in front of Andira is a hexagonal pedestal; interact with it to place the antlers. At this point, you should be able to mount Andira and fly through the skies of Bastion. If you’re not able to hop on, you’ll have to complete or abandon every other quest you have active in the same area. This instance of Andira, for some reason, is separate from others, and there’s a chance that the large bird will follow you instead of letting you fly.
Once you’re in the sky, you’ll have to soar through the blue, cloudy rings to complete the quest. There are 13 of them, but if you’re having trouble seeing them, it’s by design. The visual patterns of the rings are a bit too similar to the skybox of Bastion, and it can be a hazard to make it through all the rings in one go, especially because you only have ten seconds between each one.
If you’re having trouble seeing them, lower your graphics settings to either 3 or 4, as this should remove some of the extra details that make the rings indistinguishable from the rest of the sky.
Lastly, once you fly through the 13th ring, get as close to the ground as you can. You’ll automatically dismount Andira after a few seconds, and if you’re high enough, this will prove fatal.
