For this, they’ll need to navigate to the location on their PC where Star Citizen is installed and find the folder named USER. This folder is usually under the filepath <Installation folder>/Star Citizen/LIVE/USER.

Inside this folder is every piece of user data players have for the game. It’s also the one folder that’s best known for becoming corrupted. Players must open the USER folder and delete everything inside. Then, they need to open the RSI Launcher and let it download new files for that folder so it repopulates. This is similar to refreshing the cache of a web browser when it starts behaving strangely.

Once that’s done, players should launch the game’s Persistent Universe once more, and they should see their friend list full of all the familiar names they know.
