How to get the Chronicle of Lost Memories in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands

Castle Nathria and the dungeons can wait for a bit.

Putting together your legendary armor in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands can feel like a lifetime journey, especially with repeated attempts at all of the Shadowlands dungeons, raids on Castle Nathria, and the eternal struggle that is Torghast. Fortunately, there is an alternate method for obtaining a legendary memory, breaking up some of the grinds. However, this method won’t come cheap, nor does it come without its requirements.

Your Renown quartermaster’s inventory contains an item called the Chronicle of Lost Memories. This item is good for a random legendary memory that you haven’t already learned, so you won’t have to worry about wasting the 35 Grateful Offerings it costs to purchase.

Before you can buy this, you’ll need four permanently reinforced locations with your Covenant Anima Conductor. To get to this stage, it must be at Rank 2, and getting four locations permanently reinforced means 40 reinforced locations, with each spot taking a full day to reset. You’ll have to decide if this path is worth missing out on a few dungeon or tower runs.

One other important note: memories based on reputation are not included in the pool you can get from the Chronicle of Lost Memories, so you’ll still have to work on Covenant-specific reputation building. Hopefully, you’ve been keeping up with your Sanctum upgrades, but if you’re just starting out in Shadowlands, you can decide which path is more worth your time.
