How to get your Digital Deluxe horse in Ghost of Tsushima

A man and his bonus steed.

One of the first things you will do in Ghost of Tsushima is get a horse and use it to escape from the invaders. If you purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, you get a special horse that only comes with that version of the game.

How you get your Digital Deluxe horse is exactly the same as getting your normal horse, you just need to pick at the stables after you save the villagers early in the game. If you won this special edition of the game, you will have three different horses. The black and white horses are the normal horses, while the brown horse is the Deluxe Edition horse. If you walk up to the horse and interact with it, you will see that it is called the Deluxe Edition horse.

Does my choice of horse impact gameplay?

No, the horse has no intrinsic impact on gameplay, and a horse, in this case, is just a horse. Horses will travel at the same speed and provide all the same features, no matter which horse you pick.

What if I picked the wrong horse at the start?

There is no way to change your horse, so if you picked the wrong one, and really want to use your Digital Deluxe horse, you may need to consider a restart of the campaign. As we said above, the horse doesn’t offer any benefits over a normal horse, which might not be worth it.

You can call your horse by hitting left on the D-pad, and you can mount it by hitting R2 when you are close. You can gather resources and supplies from horseback, and later in the game, you will be able to jump from the horse onto enemies, making it a fun way to start a fight.
