Did you know you could move your mailbox in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? If you’re reading this guide, it’s safe to assume that you didn’t. Surprise! You can.
Mailboxes have been a standard feature of every house since Animal Crossing for the Gamecube. They’ve always shifted around a bit as you upgrade your house, of course, but you’ve never been able to move them.
The catch is that this is a perk only available once you’ve fully upgraded your AC:NH home. If you try to move it before then, nothing at all happens.
Moving your mailbox is as simple as walking up to it, pressing Y, and putting it into your inventory. Once it’s in your inventory, you can place it anywhere you like on your island. No matter where you place it, it will continue to function as normal.
Mailboxes can be moved, but they can’t be rotated or dragged. They will always face forwards, and pushing and pulling won’t work.
