How to start the Borderlands 3 Broken Hearts Event

The Broken Hearts event in Borderlands 3 starts now
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Another Borderlands 3 seasonal event has begun, and this time it’s full of hearts. The Valentine’s Day event is called Broken Hearts, and it’s all about going around the galaxy, breaking the hearts above an enemy’s head.

Following a quick update to your Borderlands 3 game, you don’t need to do anything else. The Broken Hearts event should go active as soon as you jump into the game. To access your progress while you’re playing, go into your menu and go to the fifth slot reserved for events. You should see a detailed breakdown of all of the available challenges you can do in the game, and the rewards.

Unlike the previous holiday event, the Bloody Harvest, you do not need to see Maurice and start the event directly. You do have the option to remove yourself from the event. To do this, you need to return to the main menu, choose the vault hunter you want to play, and before loading into a game, choose to disable the Broken Hearts event. You won’t see any of the hearts above enemy’s heads in the game. If you join another friend’s game and they have the event active, though, you will see the hearts.

The Broken Hearts event goes from Feb. 13 to Feb. 20. There are five awards available for completing all of the objectives.
