How to unlock the Sledgehammer in Cold War

It's hammer time!

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is continuing to add more and more different weapons for players to utilize. The latest of these tools of destruction is the Sledgehammer, a new melee secondary that will let you smash the competition. The hammer, however, is not just for show as it trades the speed of the combat knife for extended range.

Unlocking the hammer

There are two ways to unlock the Sledgehammer. The first is completing a challenge that may or may not take you a while. To unlock the hammer, players will have to secure a double kill with a melee weapon in 15 different matches. Your best bet when it comes to this challenge is the Nuketown 24/7 playlist. In this close quarters match there is a lot of confusion to allow you to get behind the enemy to slice and dice two foes.

The second way to unlock the hammer is to buy it outright. If you don’t feel like spending the time to grind out this challenge, you can buy the Bulldozer operator bundle. This will not only give you a hammer variant, Heavy Handed, but a Blitz skin, two tracer packs, and a special finishing move. This, however, will cost you 2,400 COD points.

Once you unlock the Sledgehammer, through buying it or unlocking it, you will also be able to take it back to the Warzone and Zombies modes.
