In pleasant news, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 has been announced. The reworkings of the original games will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Sep. 4. The game, which is being developed by Vicarious Visions, the studio who brought Destiny 2 to PC, and handled the recent Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy, will be available through the Epic Games Store on PC.
You may be wondering if you can pick it up elsewhere on PC, and the unfortunate answer is that it looks like the game has, at the very least, a limited-time exclusivity deal with the platform.
No mention was made of the game being available on other storefronts, such as Steam, and the only logo shown at the end of the general release trailer was the one for Epic Games Store, so it would certainly seem that the game will be exclusive to the store.
How long that last is anyone’s guess. Epic has done all kinds of exclusivity deals with people, from just a few months to a year, or even longer. As such, we can’t really say for sure until someone from Activision release official word on the duration of any exclusivity deal that they have signed.
People are not always happy about Epic snapping up games in such a fashion on PC, so it may have been wise for Activision to sign a short term deal to try and get the best of both worlds, without alienating too many fans.
We have reached out to the Activision for confirmation and will update this article when we learn more.
