There are a lot of achievements in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and some of them are pretty ambiguous. The Friendly Pointer Achievement wants you to capture a creature that seems to be pointing at something.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne – Friendly Pointer Achievement Guide

You can find the creature in the Rotten Vale. According to Youtuber Gaming With Abyss, the easiest way to find it is to load up the “Lord of the Underworld Beckons” and spawn in at Camp 11. The event tasks you with finding 20 underground fruits, and you should be able to find the Friendly Pointer beside one of them.

Now, it’s not known if this is a guaranteed spawn, or if it will definitely spawn beside the fruit that Abyss discovered it near, but I have included the video where he shows the location because explaining how to get there would be somewhat difficult.

If you are lucky, and you head for the same fruit, you might be able to find it, then catch it in your net. If not, then check all the other fruit locations, and give the area a thorough search.

Once you catch the Arrowhead Gecko, you can have it as a pet and will have succeeded in the Friendly Pointer Achievement. The only thing I find confusing is that the little guy didn’t appear to be pointing at anything.
