Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! shake up the Shiny Pokémon hunting formula by having the creatures appear in the over-world instead of having them simply be a random encounter.

If you want to try to capture every Shiny Pokémon out there, then this guide is for you. Down below, you’ll find a series of tips and tricks to help you learn what to look out for the next time you enter the tall grass.

There’s a pretty easy method this time around when it comes to catching Shiny Pokémon, if you’re willing to wait for as long as it takes to find and capture one.

  • First, you have to pray that luck is on your side. There’s no guarantee that a Shiny Pokémon will appear in the wild when you want it to, and even if one does, it might not be the Shiny Pokémon you wanted.
  • When a Shiny Pokémon appears, it will be obvious due to its different color palette and the shiny glimmer animation that appears above its head. It’s important to note that we aren’t talking about red and blue aura here, but little star-like glimmers that show off its shiny glow.

  • After a Shiny Pokémon finally spawns, you’ll need to avoid all other Pokémon and touch it before it disappears. Remember, you’re on a timer here, so be sure to act fast.
  • Once you’ve touched the Shiny Pokémon, you’ll just need to capture it and pray that it doesn’t run away from you. Once you successfully capture the Shiny Pokémon, you can use it in-game however you see fit.

It’s also worth noting that any Shiny Pokémon you have on the mobile game Pokémon Go can be transferred over to the Let’s Go games and used there, reducing the need to catch them in the wild.

Another method of getting a Shiny Pokemon is by chaining Pokemon. This revolves around you catching the same Pokémon one after another in an attempt at getting a huge chain going. If you catch a different Pokémon during the link, however, you’ll need to restart the chain.

You can also get an item known as the “Shiny Charm” which you get from the Game Director after completing the Pokédex (getting all 150 Pokémon minus Mew). The charm will increase the chances of finding Shiny Pokémon in the wild.
