Pokemon Masters is out now, and the three vs. three battles are heating up in terms of strategy for trainers everywhere. A notable feature in the battles is how items function, namely they’re attached to a particular sync group. Because items function in such a manner, some trainers are curious about how they can go about curing status effects. Here’s how you do it.

Curing Status Effects in Pokemon Masters

Much like any item you’re going to use in Pokemon Masters, you need to find the right trainer who uses it in their kit. The first notable trainer players encounter who can cure status effects is Barry and his Pokemon companion, Piplup. You’re going to receive these two at the end of the second chapter in the game. He’s the first trainer, outside of any sync pairs you may have already acquired from the store, with access to this ability. It’s the first one on the right side, called “Full Heal.”

During combat, when a status effect hits a Pokemon, you need to use Barry’s, “Full Heal,” ability. It works the same as if you were attempting to heal a Pokemon. When you click on the skill, you’re going to see a pop-up screen of all three of your Pokemon. You need to pick the one you want to apply the full heal on to, and when it’s Barry’s turn to attack, he’s going to use the full heal item to cure your Pokemon. They should no longer suffer from the status effect.

Beyond Barry and Piplup, the other pair who can use a Full Heal are Cheren and Stoutland.
