How To Get Galarian Ponyta and Evolve It Into Galarian Rapidash in Pokémon Shield

Galarian Ponyta is only available at in one location in Pokémon Shield. Here is how to find one and evolve it into Galarian Rapidash.

Before the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield, there was a 24-hour live stream that took place in Glimwood Tangle. Many Pokémon new and old have appeared, and the biggest highlight was the Galarian Ponyta. Here is our to catch Galarian Ponyta and evolve it into Rapidash.

Ponyta’s Location

Galarian Ponyta is a Shield exclusive, so if you own a copy of Sword, you will have to trade with someone with a copy of Shield. Those with the latter version, you will have to earn up to four badges and make your way to Glimwood Tangle before facing the Fairy type gym leader Opal. In the luminating forest, you will be able to find Galarian Ponyta.

Since its location is in a forest, there will not be any overworld appearances of any Pokémon except for Impidimp. Keep in mind that Galarian Ponyta is pretty rare, so it might be a while until you can finally encounter one in the wild.

How to evolve it into Galarian Rapidash

Just like evolving a regular Ponyta, Galarian Ponyta needs to be at level 40 to evolve into Galarian Rapidash. After evolving, it will gain the Fairy typing.
