If you haven’t heard or seen, a majority of Red Dead Redemption II‘s online player-base has continued to dress their characters in clown outfits – a form of protest mocking Rockstar’s inability to add new features to the game. Well, apparently the clowning around has caught the eye of the developer, as a new update has been announced for the online component.
On Tuesday, July 28, the fresh wave of content will deliver a new Frontier Pursuit that Rockstar says will, “introduce players to the secrets of naturalism as part of an all new Role.” Frontier Pursuits have been implemented as the game’s rendition of side-stories that are different for each player class chosen.
To add, a new Outlaw Pass (or Battle Pass) will also be available on the same day, but there is no indication as to what is included yet. Typically, Outlaw Passes cost players 35 Bars, which runs at about $20 USD in the marketplace, but there are other ways to obtain them in-game, as well. The developer also promises that players will see “tons of community-requested features and fixes,” mentioning that audiences will be safer from cheaters and hackers.
If none of the above scratches your itch to jump back into multiplayer, the announcement also states that more updates are to come later in the year, with “extensions” arriving to pre-existing Roles soon. However, there are a number of lesser-known secrets already in the game that’ll make the experience brand new – like getting 99 Gun Oil for free in all online modes. The update will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC.
