If you’ve spent any real-time in Red Dead Online, then you’ll know that the only way to make serious cash is by hunting, fishing, and foraging for plants. It’s fun to participate in all the other activities that it has on offer, but outside of the story missions, the only way you’re going to make enough moolah to buy that expensive horse you’ve just got to have is by spending hours off the beaten track, killing and skinning everything you find.

If that sounds like how you play the game, then you’re in luck as the Trader role is perfect for you. In fact, on a personal note, I’d initially been sworn blue that this was going to be the path I took until my inner Clint Eastwood got the better of me and I became a Bounty Hunter.

It’s easy enough to get started, as well. If you’re a PS4 owner, you’ll have been given the butchers table for free so when you read the letter from Cripps claiming he’s always wanted to own his own Trading Post you don’t have to fork out the 15 Gold required to buy it unless you own an Xbox One that is.

When you’ve got what you need, you can head off into the wilderness and start bringing in carcasses and plants to your heart’s content, and in doing so, you’ll rise through the ranks unlocking these rewards along the way.
