A guide on how to get the Fastest Horses in Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a massive game, and your primary mode of transport will be the humble horse. As such, you want to get your hands on the fastest horse possible. The starter horse is not the best horse in the world, so you should be looking to upgrade as soon as you can. Your horse is essential, because the faster it is, then the easier you will find it to catch people, or leave them in your wake. You also want a good, healthy horse, as this will make fighting from horseback a more viable option when the bullets start flying.

The four stats to consider when deciding on a horse are Health, Stamina, Speed, and Acceleration. All horses fall into categories, so you know what they are best suited to. These are Riding, Draft, Work, Race, and War.

The Fastest Horse In Red Dead Redemption 2

The absolute fastest horses to go for in Red Dead Redemption 2 are the Arabian horses. They handle better, and are much faster, than other horses, so much so that they have their category compared to the other horses, and are known merely as Superior.

The rose gray bay Arabian horse will have ten health and stamina when fully bonded with, and speed and acceleration of 8 with stirrups equipped. This makes it the fastest horse in the game. The bad news is that it is not available for purchase until after Chapter 6, basically at the end of the story.

There is a black Arabian that you can buy earlier in the game. It has a 6 in health, stamina, speed, and acceleration (before bonding and stirrups), and is available during Chapter 4. The problem is that it costs over a thousand dollars, which is a lot to invest in a horse. There is, however, a better option.

Once you begin Chapter 2, you will have the ability to tame a fantastic wild horse, the white Arabian. It has the same stats as the black Arabian, meaning you can pick up one thousand dollars worth of horse for free! In the spirit of the game, why pay money when you can take what you want? When fully bonded with, and well equipped, this horse will have an 8 in every statistic. This will make it tough, easy to handle, able to run forever, and very fast overall. This puts it on par with the rose gray bay Arabian when it comes to speed and acceleration.

Where To Find The Fastest Horse In Red Dead Redemption 2

Now, before I tell you where to find this horse, I do have a couple of suggestions. First up, you should practice breaking wild horses. Get used to how this part of the game works, how to approach and calm a wild horse. The easiest way to do this is with practice. You always need to approach the horses slowly, calming them as you go. When you get close to them, you can mount them. Hold on, as the horse will try to buck you off. You will need to continue to calm the horse while it gets used to you. When it finally settles down, place your saddle on the horse, and you will be good to go.

Secondly, make sure you save your game when you get close to the area the horse is in. It is a very skittish animal, highly likely to run away from you! Being able to reload a save and try again is a much better option than trying to get another one to show up.

To find the white Arabian, you need to head for Lake Isabella, in the state of Ambarino, in the western Grizzlies. This is a snowy and cold region, so make sure you dress in your warmest clothes. On the western bank of Lake Isabella, you will find the white Arabian.

As I already said, make sure you approach the horse very carefully, and if it runs away from you, reload your save and try again. It really will save you a lot of heartaches if you find it hard to tame the horse. Now you know how to get your hands on the fastest horses in Red Dead Redemption 2, you can make up your mind about what ones you want to go for, and when. I strongly suggest getting the white Arabian as soon as you can. It takes a little bit of time, and work, but it is well worth the effort.
