The Cayo Perico Heist is Grand Theft Auto Online’s biggest update yet, and it managed to bring trouble with all of its additional content. Ever since the update went live, some players have been plagued with an error message when trying to form a group with their friends. It reads: “Sending invites is disabled until both you and this player have completed the GTA Online tutorial.”
This doesn’t make a lot of sense, considering the amount of playing everyone has already done before linking up in Cayo Perico. Right now, Rockstar does not have an official fix for this problem, an error that has occurred in previous updates over the years.
If you’re experiencing this issue, the best thing to do is reach out to the Rockstar Support account on Twitter. They have been active with their responses to players who can’t get their friends to join them, and you can open a support ticket by mentioning them in a tweet.
If you don’t use Twitter, you can also check out the official support page for Grand Theft Auto V. Bring your login information with you, and choose Online Play, Gameplay Progress, and the system you’re using to play GTA Online. Rockstar typically responds to tickets within 24 hours.
