After releasing overalls for the best wingers, defensemen, and goalies in NHL 21, EA Sports on October 8 concluded its ratings announcements with the top centers in this year’s game. Many of the game’s top stars made the top ten, including the skater who tops the list: Oilers forward Connor McDavid.
The top centers in NHL 21
Former Hart Trophy recipient Connor McDavid received a 95 OVR rating by the NHL team. McDavid not only finished first among all centerman, but he also received the highest overall rating among all players in NHL 21. Penguins forward Sidney Crosby, the second-highest rated center in this year’s game, received a 93 OVR rating. Avalanche skater Nathan MacKinnon (92 OVR) rounds out the top three.
Here are the top ten centerman in NHL 21, sorted by overall rating:

- Nathan MacKinnon – 92 OVR
- Leon Draisaitl – 92 OVR
- Patrice Bergeron – 91 OVR
- Jack Eichel – 91 OVR

- Aleksander Barkov – 90 OVR
- Steven Stamkos – 90 OVR
- Auston Matthews – 90 OVR
Every centerman in the top ten received a 90 OVR rating or better in NHL 21, including 2020 Hart Trophy winner Leon Draisaitl.
Keep in mind that these ratings apply to most games, including Online play and Franchise mode. These figures do not apply to Hockey Ultimate Team, as that mode utilizes a different rating system.
