2K Games announced the Mafia Trilogy back in May, which includes all the three Mafia games. Mafia 1 got a full remake from the ground-up, while Mafia 2 was remastered. Mafia 3, which was released just a few years ago, didn’t get any improvements and was just bundled up with the DLC and bonus content. Despite being available in a trilogy, the games were released separately, with the Mafia 2 Definitive Edition already being released on May 19, 2020.
Mafia 1 Definitive Edition was originally slated to release on Aug. 28, 2020. However, the coronavirus pandemic led to a number of challenges, forcing 2K to reschedule the release date of the game. The game will now be releasing on Sept. 25, 2020. Given the fact that there are already a number of highly anticipated game releases in September, the game’s sales might suffer due to the packed schedule.
Mafia 1 Definitive Edition is not only remade from the ground-up on the Mafia 3 engine but also contains a variety of other stuff including new cutscenes, features, and a revamped script. The open-world game narrates the story of Thomas Angelo, a cab driver who is forced to join the Mafia, and it was widely acclaimed back in the day.
