Where to catch Riolu in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

A fan favorite Pokémon.

Riolu is one of the many Pokémon you can catch and study in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It originally appeared in the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games, before Pokémon Legends, in the same land, so it makes sense to see Riolu walking around. But you will need to find it if you want to add it to your collection and learn more about its Pokédex entry. In this guide, we’ll cover where you can catch Riolu in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

You can only find Rilou in one area of the Hisui region. It only spawns in the Alabaster Icelands area, and you can find it in the Icebound Falls and Snowfall Hot Spring areas. You should see it running around with the other wild Pokémon. We recommend visiting the Icebound Falls location, as it’s closer to the initial Base Camp for the region.

We recommend attempting to sneak behind it and catch it before it notices you. It is a Fighting-type Pokémon, so you don’t want to use Flying or Psychic-type attacks against it. Eventually, you’ll want to evolve it into Lucario, and you can do this by increasing Rilou’s friendship and then evolving it during the day.
