UFC 4 will launch worldwide on Aug. 14 for the Xbox One and Playstation 4, but one question you may have is whether the latest installment of the franchise will be available for the Xbox Series X and Playstation 5. We know the answer to this question, but it may not be one fans of the franchise want to hear.
Shortly after the release of the launch trailer for UFC 4, EA Sports UFC Creative Director Brian Hayes wrote a letter to the UFC gaming community. Hayes answered some questions that players may have regarding the game, including whether UFC 4 will be available for the Xbox Series X and Playstation 5.
Hayes stated that the UFC development team is not working on a release for the next-generation of consoles as of this moment, and their focus right now is to finish the game for the current generation of consoles. While the creative director for the UFC franchise stated that there are no plans to release the game for the Xbox Series X and PS5, Hayes said that the developers are “incredibly excited about new technology and the possibilities that come with it.”
Despite those statements from Hayes, gamers may not want to fully rule out a possible next-generation release for UFC 4. The ESRB website does have a listing for an Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 version of the game, so it remains to be seen whether a next-generation UFC 4 release actually does happen.
As for whether UFC 4 will be available for PC and the Nintendo Switch, Hayes also stated in the letter that there are no plans for the title to launch on either platform.
