New Pokemon TCG cards were revealed during the Pokemon World Championships earlier this morning. We got a glimpse of the new Sword and Shield cards, along with a new V-card type.
Today is the first day of the Pokémon World Championships. While the competition remains fierce amongst competitors, the Pokémon Company knows they have fans around the world watching the event. As such, they’re excited to debut some crazy new information regarding the Pokémon Trading Card Game by showing off the new Sword and Shield cards. There’s also a brand new V Card-type players are going to need to be on the hunt for moving forward.
Here’s the official tweet from Pokémon’s formal Twitter page showing off the new cards, and the V card-types.

During the first portion of the video, we see various new cards from the series with some unique art. Towards the end, we get a brief, slim glimpse of what the V cards are going to look like and what they’re going to do. We also get a glimpse of this massive card surrounded by a red border, with a V in the corner.
There’s not too many other hints or details regarding what’s behind that card. But it’s likely a new Pokémon we have yet to see for Sword and Shield with unique attacks, abilities, and stats. The V cards are going to be incredibly powerful, moving forward. We know that for sure. What’s interesting is the Twitter account continues to post hints regarding the details of the cards.
Such as, despite the strength of the V-cards, they can evolve. These hints to them doing a similar ability to Dynamaxing, which is a powerful new ability coming to Sword and Shield. We’ll see what other information comes out from the Pokemon World Championships over the weekend.
