We’ve known for a while that Guerrilla Games has been working with a second team on something completely new and different from what we’ve seen coming from them thus far.

Back in the days, Guerrilla has been known for working on the Killzone franchise, which has always put together some interesting story campaign and multiplayer, but this time it seems they’re coming with a multiplayer-oriented title.

According to insider Tidux, who’s been pushing for a long time on that intellectual property, the Dutch studio might be working on a SOCOM reboot, which would help Sony have the franchise returning from years of rest if we could call it so.

The second team at Guerrilla Games has been working on something for years now, in parallel with the one that is reportedly doing Horizon Zero Dawn‘s sequel for PS5. It’s being helmed by the former director of Rainbow Six Siege, so you can expect a very fast, competitive, and strategic multiplayer experience.

Of course, it’s just a rumor that the game in question might be SOCOM, but it is the first time that we see the team and the IP linked together. Instead of launching a new intellectual property, it could be that the team might have put its hands on that old PlayStation glory – do you dig it?
