It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly three decades since the original Streets of Rage cast have been in action together. Sure, Axel and Blaze have been kicking butt and taking names in the sequels, but there’s been no sign of Adam Hunter… at least, until now.

During today’s Indie World presentation, LizardCube and DotEmu introduced the latest trailer for Streets of Rage 4—and Adam Hunter is back in action.

The trailer reintroduces the fighter, who hasn’t been available as a playable character in the series since the original 1991 Genesis release. He brings a powerful fighting style along for the ride, in addition to a stylish, young look that shows he’s aged pretty well. (Sure, he doesn’t have Axel’s amazing beard, but he more than makes up for it with his own good looks.)

This brings the total count of characters to the game thus far to four, including Axel, Blaze, and the newly introduced Cherry. And it looks like there could be room for at least one more, based on the silhouette above.

As far as when we’ll get Streets of Rage 4, there’s still not an exact release date, but instead a window, with the game set to arrive sometime in the first half of 2020. That means we won’t be waiting too much longer to get our old-school brawl on, thankfully.

Streets of Rage 4 is set to release on Nintendo Switch, as well as Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
