From Software Marketing Manager Hints at Possible Armored Core Sequel

is From Software’s hardcore mech series returning?

From Software has been known for hardcore action projects like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Bloodborne, but there was a point in time when it produced mech action with the Armored Core series. And now, the company’s marketing manager just hinted at the possibility of a return to said series.

Yasunori Ogura recently updated their official Twitter header image, according to a report from Gematsu. However, instead of using something from one of the company’s current games, they opted to go with a blast from the past — and it looks very Armored Core-ish.

The image is below, featuring a giant robot with some cannon variation.

Armored Core follow-up

The company has been hard at work on a new project called Elder Ring, in conjunction with Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin. However, it hasn’t received any updates as of late, suggesting that it might be cooking up something else.

Hidetake Miyazaki, the president of the company, in June 2018, hinted that a new chapter in the Armored Core series was in development, only to tell fans later to “please wait a little while longer” for official information.

Could this mean we see an announcement soon? The Game Awards is happening next week, and there’s also Jump Festa 2019, which is taking place in Japan later this month. Either show would be ideal for a new Armored Core announcement, marking the first entry in the series since Armored Core: Verdict Day came out back in 2013.

We’ll let you know as soon as the company officially confirms anything. But, yeah, we’ll take a little mech action in-between the hardcore entries From Software has for us.
