The Boomsday Project, Hearthstone‘s latest expansion, contains some pretty unique card design. When the theme is centered around a weird experimental laboratory, it’s no less than what would be expected.

Cloning Device is a two mana Priest spell card. When it’s played, you can Discover a copy of a minion in your opponent’s deck. That means it won’t include copies of minions on the board or in hand. The Discover will give you three choices, meaning you can pick the one that best suits what you want it for. Maybe it gives you a counter to your opponent’s strategy, puts up some much needed defenses, or even pushes that last bit of damage.

Thoughtsteal was a traditionally popular card in Control Priest before most of the expansions came out, and this is even cheaper and more precise. If Priest has enough tools of its own, however, it might not need to steal some from elsewhere. With Thoughtsteal, the punchline always was that the best cards in Control Priest were the ones stolen.

The Boomsday Project is the second expansion of the current Standard year, the Year of the Raven. It will add 135 new cards to the game, including new keywords like Magnetic. It is currently available to pre-order, with all the cards becoming available on Aug. 7.
