The only way to peace is…war?

Although the Nintendo Switch version of Civilization VI lets you build a legacy on the go, it’s not without its issues.

Based on a report from Eurogamer, several owners of the game note a very severe game crash issue after a recent update, which occurs at the worst possible time—right when they’re about to score a crucial victory. Apparently they see the crash right after they score a winning turn on their adversary.

2K’s developers say they are already aware of the issue, but in the meantime, they’ve come up with a rather creative, if not overly aggressive, solution: declare war.

“A discovered known workaround is to declare war on the Civilization that is causing the crash right before you end your turn,” the 2K Support team suggested in a Reddit reply. “This seems to alleviate the crashing in most instances. In order for you to know which Civilization is causing the crash, you’ll have to pay attention to which Civ’s turn it falls onto immediately before the crash happens. Once discovered, reload the save, declare war on that Civ and hit Next Turn.”

Civilization VI also recently released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. However, it doesn’t look like those versions have any crash issues, at least none reported as of yet.
