The beta was supposed to begin tomorrow at 12pm CT on PS4. But the servers went live several hours earlier than anticipated—around 7pm CT on Aug. 2 for PS4 users. PC and Xbox One players will have to wait until next week to get their first taste of the upcoming installment in the Call of Duty franchise.

The first weekend of the Black Ops 4 private multiplayer beta is scheduled to run until 12pm CT on Monday, Aug. 6. A second week will then be held on PS4 and Xbox One from Aug. 10 to 13. An early-access PC beta exclusively on Battle.net will start on Aug. 10, with the open PC beta set to run from Aug. 11 to 13.

Anyone who participates in the private multiplayer beta will receive a “unique, one-of-a-kind” in-game calling card. Additionally, players who reach the maximum level in the beta will earn a permanent unlock token to use in multiplayer when Black Ops 4 is officially released on Oct. 12.

Six maps will be playable in the multiplayer beta—Contraband, Payload, Seaside, Frequency, Hacienda, and Gridlock. Players will also get to try out 10 of Black Ops 4’s Specialist characters, and several classic multiplayer game modes will be available, including Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Search and Destroy.

It’s officially time to prepare for a long weekend of Call of Duty action. There’s a lot to be excited about in the Black Ops 4 private multiplayer beta—especially if you own a PS4.
