Popular indie game, Crypt of the NecroDancer, is getting Legend of Zelda content and a new title.

Crypt of the NecroDancer is an indie game released back in 2015 on Microsoft Windows. It was later ported to the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in 2016. Xbox One would then get the game in 2017, and Nintendo Switch would finally get the game in early 2018.

NecroDancer is a dungeon explorer game that uses rhythm gameplay. You play along with the musical beats of the game’s soundtrack. The better you play along with the beat of the music, the better you do in the game.

As a closer for the March Nintendo Nindies Direct, a new version of Crypt of the NecroDancer was announced. It is a crossover game with the Legend of Zelda. We didn’t see much of this new version of NecroDancer; however, the reveal trailer did show off some gameplay.

You get to play as Cadence, the lead from NecroDancer, along with Link and Zelda. It appears that Link and Zelda are capable of using weapons that are featured in the Legend of Zelda series, and Zelda seems capable of using magic. A lot of the new environments look exactly like classic places from the Zelda games, particularly some dungeons from A Link to the Past.

This version of NecroDancer is called Cadence of Hyrule. Hyrule of course being the mythical land that Legend of Zelda takes place in. It is expected to be available in Spring 2019.
