The full patch notes are incredibly long, but they are chock full of changes and tweaks that the community has been craving for quite some time. If you haven’t booted up Destiny 2 in a while, now is a good time to come back and see what’s different.

The Power level cap is now 385 and players can reach Level 30 on top of that because Power increases have become customary with DLC’s in the series. But there’s a whole lot more to offer on top of the game’s new story missions, Strikes, gear, and Raid Lair activity.

For one, a ton of Exotic weapons have been buffed in big ways to make them feel more “exotic.” For example, Hard Light’s bouncing bullets now deal double damage, Skyburner’s Oath now fires explosive projectiles, and Tractor Cannon will suppress enemies and prevent them from jumping or using abilities. In total, 19 Exotic weapons have been buffed.

For Crucible players, there are now private matches and ranked playlists. Unique rewards are given as higher ranks are attained, and ranks reset at the end of each season. On top of that, all DLC maps are available to every player, regardless of DLC ownership, in public playlists.

These are just a small sampling of what’s been done to help improve the game for the second expansion. Bungie’s attempts to bring players back into the fold have been coming steadily over the past few months, but now’s the time to see if they truly improve the game.
