Microsoft officially announced the rumored disc-less Xbox One S in a blog post on MajorNelson today. The post spells out a lot of information that was already being whispered about, some of which leaked earlier this week, right down to the April 16 announcement and May 7 release date.

Dubbed the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, the console packs the same power as the standard Xbox One S, just without the disc drive. It will also come pre-loaded with Minecraft, Forza Horizon 3, and Sea of Thieves. Players can purchase new games digitally, but Microsoft seems to be pushing its Xbox Games Pass harder than ever with the release of this new console. According to the announcement post, the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition will come with “a special offer to get started” with the service, though it’s not clear exactly what that offer is.

The new Xbox will retail for $249.99 at launch. That’s a significant jump from the rumored $199.99 price that had been circulating, but the three included games make up for that difference. That puts the All-Digital Edition $50 below the standard Xbox One S. According to the announcement post, Microsoft plans to keep “at least that price difference” between the two console versions in the future, so it’s not impossible that the All-Digital Edition could eventually come with an event steeper discount from the standard console.

The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition is available for preorder now and will be available at the Microsoft Store and other retailers May 7.
