With Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age finally out for Xbox One X and Nintendo Switch, Digital Foundry has allowed us to have a deeper look at the quality of the ports after so many months from the original PS4 release.

Surprisingly, we discover that the game is not running at native 4K resolution on Xbox One X despite the fact that Microsoft claimed exactly that on the official Xbox Wire blog.

Xbox One X resolution is indeed sticking to 1080p and opting for 60 frames per second, instead of the 30fps found on the regular Xbox One.

Nintendo Switch is going for an 864p @ 30fps resolution and frame rate when docked, while the resolution goes as down as 576p in the handheld mode. Interestingly, VG Tech claims the game has a dynamic resolution.

On top of that, it’s interesting to note that Final Fantasy X is being handled at a 1080p resolution when docked and 720p in the handheld mode on Switch.

Of course, Switch has lower quality textures and texture filtering in comparison with the Xbox release, weaker ambient occlusion, while the regular Xbox One and Xbox One X are said to be similar if not for the frame rate.
