Server downtime on Fortnite: Battle Royale has begun while Epic Games works on updating the title to version 3.6, which brings some cool new changes.
The first and most notable addition in 3.6 is the inclusion of the Clinger, which is basically a sticky grenade. The Clinger will do 100 damage to players and 200 to structures and stick to any surface it hits. It’s of the Uncommon rarity and can be found in floor loot, supply drops, Llamas, and chests.
Clingers can not explode in air, and they will only explode when stuck to an enemy or surface for a few seconds. If the structure it is stuck to is destroyed before it can detonate, it will detonate early.
One of the smaller changes in the update is the ability to exchange skins for V-Bucks. The Self-Service Cosmetic Returns feature will allow you to return up to three cosmetic purchases lifetime. These include emotes, gliders, harvesting tools, back bling, and outfits. Keep in mind you can only do this three times lifetime, so don’t be too quick to cash them in.
Elsewhere, the minigun has seen a slight buff as it has had its accuracy increased by 10 percent and its recoil decreased by 10 percent. Not only that, but its damage is also being buffed up from 16 to 18 for the Epic version and from 17 to 19 for the Legendary one.
The Port-a-Fort has received some slight quality of life adjustments, too, as the instant base’s tires will no longer grant falling damage immunity after you bounce off of them. The Port-a-Fort’s trajectory preview will also now indicate if it will build with stilts and a ramp, and turn red if aimed too high.
Other small changes include short fences no longer blocking you from building structures, and first shot accuracy resetting when you crouch, uncrouch, or switch weapons. Supply Drops will also now spawn twice as high and fall twice as fast.
Epic mentioned an upcoming update once in the patch notes, and it was called 4.0. Version 4.0 could be coming next week alongside the launch of season four, after season three ends on April 30.
Update: April 24, 8:20am CT:
The “Self Refund” feature has been disabled until further notice.
