Fortnite: Battle Royale’s hugely popular Infinity Gauntlet mode received some changes last night with some substantial tweaks to Thanos.

Players who are lucky enough to wield the Infinity Gauntlet and morph into Thanos will now see one major change right away. Thanos has had his health taken down to 500 from 800, which is obviously a major change.

This now means that Thanos has 200 shields and 500 health, making him a lot easier to kill. The shields can regenerate with each elimination Thanos gets, but the lower health pool does not regenerate whatsoever, making him quite easy to focus down and finish off.

To offset the health nerf, Thanos’s damage has been buffed. His Power Stone energy beam damage has been increased from 12 to 20, and his punch damage has been increased from 80 to 100. Thanos will now need to get in close before dealing damage as he will be out-ranged and able to be taken down quickly by long-range weapons.

“Our goal is to allow more folks to truly experience the power of Thanos, while also making you feel powerful when wielding the gauntlet,” said Epic Games in a Reddit post.

The Infinity Gauntlet mode has received some general changes, too. The height of the bus has been reduced, there is a bigger initial storm circle, and the storm will do less damage in the early game.

On top of that, the Infinity Gauntlet will now spawn a bit later into the match. It previously spawned 30 to 45 seconds after the bus ride, but it will now spawn 120 to 135 seconds after the bus ride. The spawn rate of Med Kits, Chug Jugs, and Big Shields has been increased, and bandages and Slurp Juice have been removed.

Epic Games hasn’t yet announced an expiration date for the Infinity Gauntlet mode. But as it is only available for a limited time, players should enjoy it while they can.
