In a new developer discussion, Genshin Impact developers HoYoverse revealed the roadmap to expanding The Genius Invokation TCG mode, which is a fully realized trading card game. The studio announced a list of fan-requested features that will be added to the mode with Version 3.4 and other upcoming updates.
HoYoverse announced that they will continue adding new cards to The Genius Invokation TCG mode with each new Version update. A new, more casual PvP mode is also incoming, presumable to make the game a bit easier, and more details on it will be revealed during the upcoming Version 3.4 Special Program Stream, which is scheduled to take place on January 6.
The dev discussion also confirmed that new features would also come to the PvE mode, including new challenges with NPC characters and other challenges. HoYoverse stated that PvE is the development team’s “main focus,” hinting that more NPC battles will be added with each new Version update. The balance changes may also be tuned towards PvE combat, as the studio plans to balance cards continuously through future updates.
Replay was another feature confirmed to be coming to The Genius Invokation TCG mode. Players who have an exciting match or want to study up on their own plays will be able to replay/review old matches in-game without having to record them. HoYoverse has stated that replay feature is already in development, although a release timeframe has yet to be revealed. Players will also get a “Duel Details Log” function, which will help players keep better track of played cards and optimizations for controllers in Version 3.4.
