God of War’s 1.20 update is now live, and with it comes a number of quality of life changes and Photo Mode.

Photo Mode features several customization opens to allow you to pause the action and frame your own artwork inside the game. There truly is a ton of ways to customize each photo, like field of view, focal length, and camera roll. You can also adjust the aperture, add filters and borders, and also toggle the visibility of every character in the scene.

Most importantly, though, you can change the facial expressions of Kratos and Atreus. That’s right, you can make the grumpiest God known to man actually crack a smile for a change.

“With God of War, we hoped to craft a game experience that was both a technical and art showcase,” said Santa Monica Studio in a blog post. “So adding Photo Mode was a no brainer!

“With Photo Mode, players will be able to unleash their creativity and experience the world, its fast paced combat, the beautifully crafted environments and its deadly characters like never before. With player choice being such a central theme to many of the decisions we made on God of War, we sought to deliver a Photo Mode with lots of options and we’re excited to put it in your hands!”

God of War is a visual spectacle in its own right, offering some of the most masterful graphics ever seen on a console. This Photo Mode will undoubtedly show off the game’s impressive visuals in a new way.

The 1.20 update also globally increased the text size in all of the game’s UI and menus, and added a new accessiblity setting to allow players to remap Rage Mode. The patch is available to download right now.
