Halo 6 release has been delayed, it won’t launch in 2018 – if a new statement from 343 Industries is anything to go by.

Halo games have a 3-year development cycle usually, only Halo 4 had a 5-year development cycle. However, there were releases of multiple Halo titles during that period. Keeping in mind their duration of the development cycle and also that the Halo 5 is receiving less frequent updates now, there were speculations that it was time for a new Halo game i.e. Halo 6, which was supposed to be launched in 2018.

Halo 6 Release Date Hinted By Developer

But, 343 Industries hint otherwise, as in their recent statement, via a blog post, they stated, “Welcome back! To be frank (or Grim, really), I’m not sure if that’s a welcome back to us, or you guys, but let’s go with it either way. 2018 has arrived and with it, the promise of new fun times to be had and adventures to be embarked upon. No, not those adventures, but plenty of exciting ones regardless – some which might surprise you more than others.”

Judging from their statement, it seems that there is a high possibility that there will be no Halo 6 this year however, they seem to hint at something other than Halo 6. It is too soon to assume what the “exciting new adventures” they stated about, so we can hope to see more news regarding this from 343 Industries.

According to a source close to Kotaku (reported in May 2016), Halo 6 is going to release on both PC and Xbox One. “The two consoles form part of a wider Microsoft strategy, codenamed “Project Helix” according to one source, to converge Xbox and Windows. For a while now Microsoft has been clear that they want their two prestige brands to work together, as they’ve announced big new exclusives like Gears of War 4 and Sea of Thieves for both Xbox One and PC,” Kotaku reports.
